HEalth & Safety Laws Apply to your Working Environment
The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) means that employers have to provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees.
This includes providing facilities such as toilets, wash basins, sanitary disposal provisions and clean drinking water, keeping the workplace clean, ventilated and well lit, and maintaining any equipment used.
There may be other COVID-19 related provisions that apply to your workplace. You can find out more about the current requirements by visiting the Covid-19 pages of Orkney Islands Council website. Click here to take a look.
