Writing a Covering LEtter

If you have been asked to provide a covering letter when submitting your job application, this section will help you understand the purpose of a covering letter, how to structure it and what information you should include.

A good covering letter will increase the chances of your CV being looked at.  For advice on writing a CV, click here.

Activity

The following activity will help you practice writing a covering letter.  Using the example job adverts below, and the covering letter template in the Information Sheets section, write a covering letter that you could send with a CV to apply for the vacancy.
