Jobs of the Week are live for this Thursday! This week we've included a fair variety of jobs, including a position at Lidl as a Customer Assistant, Factory Processing Operative openings with Orkney Crab, an opportunity to join the VidaComm team in Stromness as a Telecomms Engineer/Climber, and a re-posting from Swannay Brewery who are looking for a Brewery Assistant. This is also your very last chance to apply for the Pickaquoy Centre's Lifeguard vacancies, which close on Sunday 28th January. These are a great opportunity for young people, as the Picky are offering full training and an industry-recognised qualification to successful candidates. For full details of the vacancies we've included this week, click on the button below. Your CV doesn't need to be boring or devoid of colour. As long as all of the essential information is there, a little flair can go a long way in helping you to stand out from other applicants - but keep it professional! It's Thursday again, which means it's time for Jobs of the Week. This week we've featured some jobs with Right There and Orkney Islands Council that might suit a college or university leaver, a great opportunity with Argo's Bakery to join their team as an apprentice baker, and more! For more information on the vacancies we've included this week, click on the button below. Be aware that, at time of posting, My Job Scotland is currently down for essential maintenance, but they should be back up and running by the end of the day. If you're looking for a job with a certain company, but they're not actively recruiting, try sending a speculative application. Even if they don't have any paid vacances this demonstrates that you are proactive and motivated. They may be able to offer you an internship, and when a vacancy does come up within the company, they might even ask you first. For more information, have a look at this page on our website. A programme of free numeracy classes for adults will start at UHI Orkney later this month, and anyone looking to improve their numeracy skills is encouraged to sign up. The Adult Numeracy Classes will boost people’s ability to use maths in their everyday life, at home and at work. Improving numeracy skills can help people become more confident and improve career prospects, or help with preparation for further study. It's that time again! For our first Jobs of the Week of 2024, we have a number of exciting Hospitality opportunities with local hotels and restaurants, and, among other entries, a position with Scottish Water as a Water Treatment Modern Apprentice which closes quite soon. Make sure to get your applications in quickly if you don't want to miss it. For more information on the vacancies we've included this week, click on the button below. If you are looking for a job, but also keen to gain a qualification, an apprenticeship may be for you. Apprenticeships are a great way to get real-life industry experience alongside a recognised qualification. If you would like more information on apprenticeships, speak to a Careers Adviser or visit apprenticeships.scot. |
