For this week’s Jobs of the Week, we have three apprenticeship opportunities with Argo’s Bakery, Orkney College UHI and ourselves (DYW Orkney). The Modern Apprentice opportunity with DYW Orkney closes this Sunday (30 July) so you don’t have long left to apply. There are also opportunities in the hospitality sector with Front of House weekend roles at the Willow’s Coffee Shop, part-time waiting/bar staff roles at the Orkney Brewery in Quoyloo, or Housekeeping roles at the Royal Hotel and Ferry Inn in Stromness. For more details about all of the opportunities available, click on the button below. Did you know that as an employee, there are some rights that you are entitled to? Some of the areas your employment rights cover include what you can be paid, annual leave entitlement, sick pay and they protect you from discrimination. The 'No Wrong Path' campaign will be returning to our social media feeds this August and we are inviting anyone from around Orkney – and Orcadians living further afield – to take part. In its seventh year, the campaign runs on the day the Scottish exam results are released and aims to educate and inspire young people about their options regardless of the results they have received, by highlighting that many people in interesting jobs didn't necessarily take a straight, obvious or traditional path to get there. This week we feature part-time opportunities with Jewson, Voluntary Action Orkney and Kirkwall Town Hall, we also have an apprenticeship opportunity with ourselves.
