A Nuffield Research placement opportunity is being offered this summer with an organisation based in Orkney, and interested school pupils are invited to submit their applications now. Nuffield Research Placements are supervised but independent research projects that are undertaken in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) area. They take place over the summer after S5 and involve online activities and a placement with a local employer. The opportunity is open to pupils who are currently in S5 and meet the qualifying criteria. There is no cost for taking part in the placement, with travel costs being reimbursed and a £200 bursary available to those who meet the eligibility criteria. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 30 March 2022.
