There is also an opportunity to register as a Temp with the Orkney Employment Consultancy. Applied Arts Scotland have been working on the development of apprenticeships in crafts for a number of years, undertaking a pilot programme of shared apprenticeship in 2017/18. They have recently completed a short piece of research into the potential for craft apprenticeships in Orkney, which has told them there is a strong appetite and an immediate need. They are now undertaking a survey to quantify demand. They are keen to hear from individuals, businesses and organisations based in Orkney.
