A six week programme to help young people prepare for their next step after leaving school concluded this week.
In partnership with Skills Development Scotland, DYW Orkney have been working with pupils at Kirkwall Grammar School and Stromness Academy who are planning to leave school at the end of this academic year. The six week School Leavers’ Programme was developed to help prepare young people for their next step after school.
Here is this week's 'Jobs of the Week'. This week there are a range of seasonal jobs in Orkney and there are also Construction Apprenticeships available.

An Orkney and Apprenticeships: Skills for the Future information event was held at Orkney College UHI on Wednesday 6 March 2019 to help young people, parents and carers learn more about the different apprenticeships available in Orkney and understand the opportunities they offer for progression in a career.
Developing the Young Workforce groups across Scotland are all taking part in Scotland’s Biggest Parents’ Evening today (Wednesday 6 March 2019) in order to show parents and carers the benefits of undertaking an apprenticeship.
