Council Offer Trainee and Apprenticeship Opportunities

An exciting opportunity is currently available for anyone who is interested in developing their skills and knowledge while working.

Orkney Islands Council (OIC) are offering a range of trainee and apprenticeship opportunities which would be suitable for a recent school or college leaver, a recent graduate or anyone looking for a new opportunity.

There are currently seven opportunities available with the council including:

• Modern Apprenticeships in Digital Communications, HR and, Business and Administration;
• Graduate trainee positions in Digital Engagement and Enterprise and, Policy;
• Trainee positions within IT and, Improvement and Performance.

This is a great chance to start working with a local employer who will support you in gaining qualifications or undertaking structured training, alongside working.  The council offers a competitive salary, a pension, sick pay and an attractive annual leave package.

If you are interested in any of these roles but would like more information, staff from the OIC will be holding two drop-in sessions at The Hub for Learning, Skills and Work, 2 Albert Street, Kirkwall.  At these sessions you will be able to meet some of the hiring managers and get tips on completing your application and preparing for an interview.  The session will take place on the following days and times:

• Thursday 6 July, 10am-12pm
• Tuesday 18 July, 2pm-4pm
