Funding is being made available to local businesses and organisations to support young people into employment. The Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) is managed by Community Learning and Development at Orkney Islands Council, and aims to support those furthest away from employment into positive and fair work. The incentive is available to businesses and organisations in the private and third sector who have less than 250 employees, to create employment opportunities for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria (see below), with the aim of the participant being offered a sustainable job within the organisation at the end of the scheme.
All jobs must be newly created and last for a minimum of 52 weeks. Apprenticeship opportunities are encouraged. The scheme will pay for 50% of the individual’s salary costs for 52 weeks. Community Learning and Development are inviting local employers to apply for this funding. There are a limited number of spaces and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to apply for the Employer Recruitment Incentive, or require further information please contact Lindsey Johnson on lindsey.johnson@orkney.gov.uk Further details, including eligibility criteria and an application form, can be found below.
