Natasha Stacey is the Administration Assistant for DYW Orkney. She reports to DYW Orkney’s Project Manager and the DYW Orkney Regional Group Board and supports them by co-ordinating meetings and events and dealing with administrative queries to ensure all aspects of the project are dealt with quickly. As part of her job, she is also completing a Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration. “I stayed at school right until the end of S6 not knowing what I wanted to do as a career. Once I left school I worked for NHS Orkney as a Switchboard Operator which developed my communication skills and after nine months in this role I moved into an office role within NHS Orkney, were I worked as Administration Support to nine departments. This role helped me decide that I wanted to pursue administration as a career path. In the office I worked in there was a Modern Apprentice and when we spoke about the Apprenticeship, I decided this is the path I wanted to take as I learn best by doing a job rather than only learning in a classroom.” Why did you become involved with DYW Orkney? “I found the Modern Apprenticeship Administration Assistant post with DYW Orkney and when I read into what DYW was about and their intentions to develop Orkney’s young workforce, I thought it was the perfect role for me and my personality. I love helping organise DYW meetings and events, communicating with employers and making databases of information and creating leaflets and information books to help spread the word of DYW Orkney.” Comments are closed.
