Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2022 starts next Monday (7 March) and we will be supporting it to show the value of Scottish Apprenticeships to people, business and the economy. This year’s theme is Apprenticeships Work, which aims to highlight how apprenticeships are providing the skills employers need now and for the future. Scottish Apprenticeships work by providing thousands of opportunities to get a job, get paid and get qualified across Scotland every year. Throughout the week there will be activities aimed at employers, parents and carers and young people, to help everyone understand how apprenticeships work.
The week kicks off with an employer’s webinar, Apprenticeships work for your business, which will enable employers to find out how an apprenticeship can help them to develop their workforce and build the skills they need now. For more information, and to register visit here. If you are a parent or carer and want to learn more about how an apprenticeship can work for your child, Skills Development Scotland are hosting a webinar which provides an overview of apprenticeships. Click here to register. Scottish Apprenticeships are a crucial part of the Young Person's Guarantee, providing thousands of opportunities for young people affected by the pandemic. If you are a local employer and would like to discuss how you can support the Young Person’s Guarantee, contact DYW Orkney on [email protected] or visit here.
