An event to enable employers to learn more about how they can support young people in achieving a successful future is being held in Kirkwall. The Young Person’s Guarantee Marketplace will be a chance for employers to learn about some of the support that is available locally to help them create opportunities in their business for young people. A range of providers and support agencies will be on hand to provide information and support and answer any questions employers may have. Hosted by Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Orkney and the OIC’s Community Learning and Development team, this will be a chance for employers to learn about Apprenticeships, Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) funding, the Kickstart Scheme and other incentives available to employers who recruit young people. Employers can also find out how these organisations and providers support young people and help to prepare them for the world of work.
All of these initiatives and incentives support the delivery of the Young Person’s Guarantee, which aims to give all young people, aged 16-24 years in Scotland, the chance to succeed through the opportunity of a job, apprenticeship, education, training or volunteering. Employers of all sizes and across all sectors can get involved with the Young Person’s Guarantee in up to five ways:
The Young Person’s Guarantee Marketplace takes place at the Albert Hotel, 11am-1pm on Friday 5 November, with employers welcome to drop past at a time that suits them. In order to support track and trace, employers can register their interest in attending here. You can learn more about the Young Person’s Guarantee here or by contacting Developing the Young Workforce Orkney on [email protected] or calling (01856) 569 352. Comments are closed.
